Ahmed Khizer Khan

Chief Executive Officer

He began his career at PWC and Citibank, working across the USA, Central Europe, the UAE, and Pakistan, before joining Barclays as Chief Executive, Emerging Markets. In this role, he oversaw operations across 15 countries including India, Pakistan, the UAE, Africa, Russia, and Indonesia, and served on several Barclays country boards, collaborating with the Global Chairman on strategies for emerging markets.

Following his tenure at Barclays, Ahmed joined the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) in Jeddah as COO & Director of Coverage, Partnerships, and Syndication, managing operations across 35 countries. He later became President & CEO of Burj Bank Limited in Pakistan, where he successfully transformed a small, loss-making institution into one of the fastest-growing Islamic banks in the country.

In 2016, Ahmed became the CEO of Daman Investments with a clear mandate to reengineer and strengthen the business. Under his stewardship, Daman has expanded into new sectors, secured major mandates in M&A and investment banking, and achieved more than 100% growth in profitability. He also led the firm in executing one of the largest leveraged buyouts among family-owned entities in the UAE.

Building on Daman Investments’ strong foundation, established in 1998, Ahmed continues to expand the company’s footprint and reinforce its position as a leading provider of investment opportunities for institutional, high-net-worth, and retail clients across the UAE and beyond.

Safa Bouzidi Leterme

Managing Director of Wealth & Asset Management

Safa Bouzidi-Leterme heads the Wealth & Asset Management division in Daman Investments. Prior to Daman, Ms. Leterme worked with Standard Chartered Bank in both Singapore and UAE offices for close to fourteen years as the Regional Head for Wealth Strategic Solutions across MENA, followed by a stint with Al Hilal Bank as the Head of Digital Wealth Management – Investment & Insurance.

She previously served as Head of Digital Wealth Management at Al Hilal Bank (ADCB Group), where she designed Shariah-compliant wealth solutions for HNW and UHNW clients, with a strong focus on digital enablement and client engagement. Prior to that, she spent over 13 years at Standard Chartered Bank, holding senior leadership roles including Regional Head of Wealth Management Strategic Solutions across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, where she led client-centric initiatives and accelerated regional business growth.

Safa holds dual Master’s degrees in Management and International Business from Sorbonne University, Paris, and in Business Management and IT from the University of Nice Sophia, France.

Nizar Darwish

Managing Director of Investment Management & Advisory
He has worked with leading banks, investment firms, holding companies, and family offices, including Earnest and Young, Jordinvest, Nuqul Group, Qatar Development Bank, and Ittihad International Investment, managing equity and debt transactions. He has also held board and committee roles in public and private companies and funds, contributing to strategic decision-making and value enhancement. Currently, Nizar leads the Investment Management & Advisory team at Daman Investments, overseeing Structured Finance, Direct Investments, Advisory, and Specialized Funds, while guiding on high-value investment strategies. He holds an MBA degree and has extensive expertise in deal structuring, capital allocation and deployment, and investment strategies, establishing him as a recognized authority in the investment field and corporate finance across the region.

Ahmed Waheed

General Manager, Daman Securities

To Daman, Ahmed brings his expertise in setting up new business lines and diversifying revenue streams through different asset classes. Prior to Daman, Ahmed was most recently Head Institutional Coverage at Menacorp, where he initiated, developed and executed new product lines, including launching Menacorp’s business in the Saudi Arabia market. Ahmed started at Menacorp as VP of its Institutional Trading Desk in Dubai. Before Menacorp, Ahmed worked in senior roles with leading MENA brokerage houses including Raddah Investment, Naeem Holding, CI Capital and Dynamic Securities Trading.

Ahmed received his MBA from Hult International Business School, Dubai and has a BA in Economics from Cairo University. Ahmed is CISI certified.

Janti Biyouk

Chief Financial Officer

Janti has over 18 years of experience in Financial Services and Asset Management. He has held senior finance roles at ADS Holding Securities LLC and multinational firms including Shell and Schlumberger. He began his career at KPMG and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) accredited by the California Board of Accountancy.

Janti specializes in corporate finance, risk management, and financial controls, and is recognized for building strong finance teams and optimizing operational performance across diverse organizations.

Walid Hizaoui

Chief Strategy Officer

Throughout his career, Walid has overseen more than $1 billion in capital deployment, executed 30+ regional investments, and led 15 successful turnaround strategies, delivering a cumulative P&L impact of approximately $450 million. He has managed +50 due diligence projects and directed +10 product launches across sectors including healthcare, Web3, crypto, and digital banking. His expertise spans 15 industries in both the private and public sectors, with a focus on automotive & mobility, financial services, and emerging technologies.

Walid holds a Master’s degree in Quantitative Finance from Peking University, China, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from HEC Business School, Tunisia. He is also a Fulbright alumnus.

Faisal Ali

Chief Information Officer

Faisal joined Daman Investments in 2018 after serving as Group Head of IT at Deyaar Development, where he led the group’s digital transformation and was named among the Top 100 CIOs in the Middle East in 2018. During his tenure at Gargash, Faisal earned multiple accolades, including CIO 100, CIO 50, and CISO 50 awards. He also contributes to the DarkTrace Cybersecurity Council and collaborates with the UAE Cybersecurity Council on advancing cybersecurity practices.

Beyond his executive responsibilities, Faisal is a regular speaker at major industry events on technology trends and future innovation. He also contributes to Computer Weekly through a regular editorial series on the evolving technology landscape, its challenges, and opportunities. His earlier leadership roles include CEO at Sharaf Computers and Software Trading, CIO at Sharaf Retail, and IT Director at Tanmia.

Aisha M. Al Shareef

Chief Human Resources Officer

Aisha brings over 17 years of experience in human resources and professional development.

Prior to joining Daman Investments, Aisha was Chief Administrative Officer at Amanat Holdings, where she focused on the performance of each department, the culture and day-to-day operations. Before Amanat, Aisha was Executive Director, Talent and Organizational Development for Dubai Holding where she was responsible for developing L&D strategies, performance management, succession planning and training.

Aisha is a recognized expert on human resource concerns and has spoken on panels around the world on a wide range of topics including Emiratization, succession planning, enabling human capital to achieve its potential.

Aisha holds a Master of Science in Project Management from British University in Dubai in association with The University of Manchester in UK.

Owen Waft

Chief Legal Officer

Owen joined Daman Investments in 2018 after serving for 20 years as a senior Corporate/Transactional Partner at K & L Gates, one of the World’s largest law firms, where he established the firm’s Middle East Corporate practice. Owen has advised on major cross-border transactions and compliance projects across the UAE, GCC, USA, Europe, and Asia, spanning sectors such as financial services, real estate, technology, automotive, and natural resources.

Owen is a member of the UK Law Society and is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales.
